		HONNEUR Imported by William Bedell and E Matthews & Sons, Bridgend, in the Christmas of 1992. HONNEUR'S 1996 measurements taken at the Royal Show were 167 cms (=66 inches) at the rump, and weighed 1533 kgs (=31 cwt). His growth rate from birth through to 400 days of age was 1.6 kgs/day, giving him a 400-day growth EBV of 61.5 (63% accuracy). HONNEUR passes on this superior growth trait to all of his pedigree and commercial progeny. Honneur's herd of origin (Chastenet) is known to be one of the oldest in the business in France. The dam of HONNEUR, COMEDIE (qualified recommande) is a daughter of PRELUDE and is one of the best cows in the Chastenet herd and is still breeding regularly. In Honneur's 4th generation two of the all time great sires of the breed, NEPTUNE and CASTOR are sited. HONNEUR was in Team 10 (current) of Lim Elite, and was subsequently awarded 4 stars (out of 5) for calving ease. His calves also exhibited the shortest gestation out of all 6 bulls on test (289 days), and very good calf quality was noted. HONNEUR has been shown extensively culminating in winning the Senior Bull Class at the 1996 Royal Highland and Reserve Male Champion at the 1996 Royal Show. His progeny have won numerous prizes at all three Royals and Limousin 2000 during 1996 and 1997, including many, many 1st's. Also the progeny of HONNEUR have won progeny classes at these aforementioned major shows. Finally at the 1996 Royal Smithfield Show a daughter of Honneur, STAVELEY LARA was Supreme Champion Purebred Heifer.
